A Legacy of Hope: The AlemFre PinkHouse Cancer Foundation

The AlemFre PinkHouse Cancer Foundation (APCF), formerly known as the Alemtsehay Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF), was established in Atlanta, GA, on January 1st, 2012. Dr. Frehiwot Derso founded the organization in memory of her sister, Alemtsehay Derso, who passed away from breast cancer in 2011 in Ethiopia.  APCF is a US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Ethiopian women facing financial and resource limitations in their fight against Breast, Cervical, and other cancers. We provide access to critical screenings, diagnosis, and treatment, while also fostering a supportive community for survivors.

Our Vision

A world where Ethiopian women thrive throughout their cancer journey, empowered by knowledge, access to care, and a supportive community.

Approximately 300,000 women and over 2,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and more than 40,000 people will die from the disease.

Our Mission

AlemFre PinkHouse Cancer Foundation (APCF) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Ethiopian women abroad and at home to overcome financial barriers and access critical care for breast, cervical, and other gynecological cancers. Through education, early detection programs, and relentless fundraising, APCF strives to improve the health and well-being of Ethiopian women battling cancer.
